How Community Access is funded through the NDIS

Community Access is generally funded under the Core Supports budget through the Assistance with Social and Community Participation support category.

Funding may be used to help participants engage in community, social, recreational, and everyday activities that promote independence, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Examples of funded supports may include:

  • Attending community activities
  • Support during shopping and personal errands
  • Assistance attending appointments
  • Recreational and social outings
  • Building social and communication skills
  • Travel support related to community participation
  • Assistance accessing education, volunteering, or employment-related activities (where appropriate)

The supports available will depend on your individual NDIS Plan, goals, and approved funding.

If you’re unsure whether Community Access is included in your plan, our friendly team is happy to help explain your funding and discuss the supports available to you.

Building confidence through meaningful experiences

Community participation is about more than simply leaving the house—it’s about building connections, increasing confidence, and creating opportunities to live a fulfilling life.

Our support workers work alongside participants to encourage independence while providing the right level of support. Whether your goal is to meet new people, learn a new skill, or become more confident navigating your local community, we’ll help you achieve it at your own pace.

Every support plan is tailored to your interests, abilities, and NDIS goals.
