Maria Babiera, Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Maria founded Kalura Community Support Services on a clear purpose: that every person deserves support built around who they are, what matters to them, and the life they want to lead. With over a decade of experience in the disability and aged care sectors, she has shaped her career around the same values that guide Kalura today — commitment, inclusion, consistency, and excellence.
Before establishing Kalura, Maria spent more than eight years in senior client relationship and business development roles across the sector. She worked closely with participants, families, support coordinators, local area coordinators, school administrators, hospital liaison officers, and allied health providers — building a wide, trusted network across every part of the care journey. Through this work, she saw firsthand the barriers that stand between people and full participation in their communities, and built her career on removing them, one genuine partnership at a time.
This breadth of experience — spanning client intake, team leadership, and partnerships management — gave her ground-level expertise across NDIS Core Supports, Supported Accommodation, Allied Health, Support Coordination, Plan Management, and Home Care Package services. Across every role, Maria earned trust the same way: by showing up reliably, following through on every commitment, and being genuinely present when it mattered most.
As COO, Maria leads Kalura's operations with an unwavering focus on service quality and integrity, holding the team to a high standard in everything they do. Her leadership ensures that every participant and family who works with Kalura experiences the same consistency and care in every visit, every plan, and every moment shared with them.
